The First Running Vacation with Childcare: Family Runcation in the Swiss Alps
Trail running, travel, and family life don’t have to exist on separate paths. Our new Family Runcation in the Jungfrau Region of the Swiss Alps brings them together — offering guided runs for moms and parents, childcare for little adventurers, and unforgettable alpine experiences for everyone. We’re proud to be the first running tour company to offer childcare on trail running vacations and create a truly family-friendly, inclusive itinerary for children of all ages
Whether you’re an experienced trail runner or a parent looking for an active escape, this retreat balances running, connection, and alpine adventure — for every pace and every age.
Why We Created a Family Runcation
Many of our guests are moms and parents who love to travel and run — but leavings kids at home and finding childcare while you travel internationally can be tough. We wanted to create another alternative to support moms and parents that want to include and travel with their kids.
We also think there’s real value in being able to connect with other moms and parents and wanted to provide a week-long opportunity to meet and learn from other running parents—over a trail run, aprés, or in the optional family activities.
This retreat was built for active families who want to balance self-care, adventure, and connection. With dedicated childcare, guided runs for multiple paces, and shared family activities each afternoon, it’s a new kind of running vacation — one that celebrates every member of the family.
“This Runcation has been a dream to create! All of our trips have been inspired by trips I’d like to take myself, and this Runcation for families is no different. I think there’s real value in being able to connect with other moms and parents in a group setting, especially those with a shared passion for running. Hope to see you in 2026!”
Run the Swiss Alps, Together
Each morning, runners head out for guided trail runs through alpine meadows, forest paths, and breathtaking ridgelines beneath the Eiger and Jungfrau peaks. Whether you’re a road runner or experienced trail runner, there’s something for every time of runner on this trip. You’ll run with views of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau in some of the most beautiful trails in the Bernese Oberland and experience Swiss Alpine towns like the Lauterbrunnen Valley, Wengen, Murren, Gimmelwald, and more. Every run is supported, scenic, and soul-filling — while kids enjoy safe, engaging activities nearby.
Your children will enjoy customized childcare enjoying everything from crafts, children’s yoga, reading lessons, and outdoor play/sports with an experienced childcare professional fluent in multiple languages. Maybe they’ll even learn some Swiss German on this trip! Kids explore and play, parents recharge, and everyone shares the magic of the Swiss Alps.
Afternoons of Family Adventure
After the morning runs, families reunite for alpine adventures: we’ll enjoy a mountaintop buffet with 360 degree views, family friendly hikes and interactive children’s nature walks, waterfalls, tram rides, and you can enjoy an aprés while your child plays in an adjacent playground with views of the Eiger—this region of Switzerland and this family running vacation is a true Swiss playground for parents and children that appreciate active travel.
A More Inclusive Future for Running Travel
We believe running vacations should be accessible to solo travelers, friends, and now, families. By offering childcare, flexible pacing, and family-friendly itineraries, we’re redefining what a running retreat can be. Our goal is to create an active travel experience where parents don’t have to choose between their passion for running and spending time with their family.
