Where can I find info on booking and pricing?

To book, follow the link in the Retreats section to direct you to WeTravel, which hosts the booking for the Runcations. You can also find an overview of my WeTravel trips here. Please not that the reservations for mountain huts are first come first served, and they sell out quickly! If you're thinking about joining us this summer but aren't totally decided, please give us a head's up to make sure there is space.

Which trip is right for me?

You can find specific details about style of accommodation, itinerary, and mileage on each trip page, but we’ve also included a chart here grading each trip based on technicality, elevation, and mileage per day!

How in shape do I need to be?

While the mileage per day differs in each trip, there is serious elevation gain and descent in the retreats that take place in high altitude/mountainous environments. Those that have the most enjoyable experiences put in preparation for your trip by running and hiking in the months leading up to it (contact us for tips on training!). That being said, the focus of each of the trail running and hiking retreats is to enjoy the scenery, drink some cappuccinos, and soak up the experience. We're not going for speed records and we're not in a rush!

.Cancellation Policy?

1. Booking
(a) Your booking is not considered definite and no contract will exist until we receive a 50% deposit from you and you agree to these terms and conditions.

2. Cancellation by you
(a) The trip deposit is non-refundable. You (or any member of your party) may cancel your booking at any time, providing that the cancellation is made by the person submitting the booking form and is notified to us in writing. Cancellation will take effect the day such notification is received by us. If such cancellation is made within 90 days before the start of the retreat, we will retain the full payment amount. However, if another person can be found to take your place, then we may offer you a refund at our discretion.

What are the accommodations like?

Do I need to be an experienced trail runner?

We offer a variety of accommodations on our runcations, from comfortable hotels complete with wellness centers and saunas to mountain rifugios and mountain chalets. On our Dolomites Hut to Hut Trail Running Retreat, we spend our days on the trail and our evenings at Italy’s famous mountain rifugios. Our rifugios are curated for views, comfort, cuisine, and overall quality of experience. Most offer a comfortable bed, heat, electricity, and even wifi, while providing multi-course dinners (included in the cost) and a full bar and espresso machine. For more specific questions, don’t hesitate to drop us a line at RuncationTravel@gmail.com

In no means do you have to be a trail running pro! Often, our Runcations serve as a gateway to speedy road and track runners to dip their toes in the world of trail and mountain running and experience the joy that comes from running in the mountain. Some participants come from experienced trail backgrounds as well as hikers, road runners, and multi-sport athletes. That being said, it’s important to do some practice to prep your body and legs for the dramatic uphill/downhill nature of these mountains and technical trails. This can be done even if you don’t necessarily live in a trail running mecca or have access to trails. If you want tips on trail running from an experienced coach, shoot us an email and we’d be happy to share!
